Boonah Show

2 - 3 June 2023

The highlights of the show each year are the  judging of horses, cattle, poultry, goats, horticulture, birds, fruit & vegetables, photography, schoolwork, and much much more.

Entertainment favourites include a great variety of rides, sideshow alley, food and merchandise., the demolition derby, cavalcade of transport, chainsaw races, ute muster, motor cross bike challenge, young farmers challenge and of course the spectacular fireworks. There is also the popular celebrity chef competition, hay stacking competition, pet parade and for the kids there is the ever popoular lego competition.

Scenic Rim Eat Local Month

2 June - 1 July 2023

Eat Local Week has something for foodies of all ages, from free and low-cost activities for children and families, including farm tours and cooking classes through to exclusive dining experiences hosted by some of Queensland’s finest Chefs. This festival of food and farming runs during the first week of the Queensland June-July school holidays at various locations around the Scenic Rim region, which is just one hour’s drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Celebrating Eat Local Month

This Eat Local Month, come join us for a unique rainforest dining experience featuring authentic traditional culture. Enjoy a 3 course native inspired feast next to the flowing waters of Cedar Creek, Tamborine Mountain. Sunday 11th June from 12-3pm, the stage is set at Thunderbird Park for you to sample great local food, fine wines and be enthralled by the Just Be Jazz band from Tamborine Mountain. Arrive early from 10am and enjoy wandering through the Rainforest Artisan Bazaar showcasing some of Tamborine Mountain’s unique artists. Come discover the Tastes Of The Forest - the culture, the food, the music, the artists that make Tamborine Mountain so great.

Clydesdale Spectacular

17 - 18 June 2023

The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular showcases the best of the Clydesdale breed and attracts breeders from Queensland and interstate. The Clydesdale Spectacular boasts the largest prize purse in the Southern Hemisphere with the Supreme Champion Clydesdale Exhibit taking home $2,000 in cash and winner of "The Thistle" Champion of Champions takes home $5,000 cash.

Botanic Gardens

Explore  the incomparable Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens, unique for the fact that they have been developed by volunteers and also for the blend of both tropical and temperate plants. Picnic  in the covered pavilion or at the many tables spread throughout the gardens. Stroll   the many pathways throughout the gardens.  Most are easy gradients but theTropical Rainforest Walk does involve some steps. Admire  the many prominent plantings areas throughout the Gardens featuring azaleas, bromeliads, camellias, hydrangeas, magnolias. maples, orchids, perennials, rhododendrons, roses and many more. Relax  at any of the contemplative sites, specially located to take in the particular beauty of various parts of the garden. Buy a plant  Plant sales are available from the volunteer propagators  ‘The Potty Potters’.   A diverse range of plants can be purchased on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 8.30 and 11.30 am. Approach a volunteer working in gardens during these times for assistance. 

The Green Shed

The “Green Shed”, located at The Showground, 386-398 Main Western Rd, Mount Tamborine, Queensland, is the local market for fresh fruit & vegetables and is open EVERY Sunday from 7.00am to noon.  We also sell flowers, honey, nuts, herbs and plants. 

Organised as a non-profit venture, through the Tamborine Mountain Local Producers Association Inc. (LPA), the market is provided as a service to local small farmers and growers of horticultural produce.  Its aim is to maximise profit for producers and provide visitors and residents with the opportunity to purchase directly from growers.

The ‘Makers Market on the Mountain’ aims to spotlight local creators of Painting, Sketch, Pastels, Sculpture, Wearable Art, Functional Art , Words and Music, Theatre, Mime, Poetry, Design, Weaving, Pottery and whatever wonderful creations our creators wish to create.

This Small bespoke market showcases no stall double ups, each item carefully hand crafted. This market is unique and unlike any other, A small community market also showcasing talented young musicians ready to filling our souls with magical mountain beats.

Country Markets

2nd Sunday Every Month

The country markets offer a huge range of fresh fruit and vegetables, wonderful locally produced cheeses, plants, herbs, flowers, coffee, arts and crafts, collectibles, garden ornaments, clothing, a myriad of homemade things and delicious temptations of all kinds.

There’s excellent coffee, poffertjes (Dutch pancakes), German sausages (try the “Knackwurst” with mustard – yum!) or be tempted by baked jacket potatoes or fresh corn on the cob.

Usually there’s a singer or performer on the gazebo stage, giving these markets a relaxing country atmosphere.  Large shady trees keep you cool in summer, and some open areas allow you to soak in the sun on cooler days.

At our Markets you will find up to 125 stalls from local artists, craftspeople, fresh produce, plants, books, clothing, vintage items, collectibles, jewellery, bric a brac, candles, crystals…. the list is endless and always changing.

Whether you are browsing or buying, come along and treat yourself to some of our deliciously tasty food while enjoying the live music and friendly mountain atmosphere.
