The Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival is an annual event to celebrate the great lifestyle we enjoy on the Mountain and which we want to share with our visitors. It is essentially a huge Sculpture Show with the subjects being Scarecrow-related!
Everyone and anyone is encouraged to make a scarecrow and display it on the ‘Spot the Scarecrow Discovery Trail’ or in front of their homes or businesses. The Scarecrows on the Discovery Trail can compete in several categories, for great prize money and local fame. Young, old, clever and artistically-challenged all participate, and the result is hundreds of scarecrows that have to be seen to be believed. Follow the Scarecrow Discovery Trail and collect clues in the Scarecrow Trail Scavenger Hunt!

The “Green Shed”, located at The Showground, 386-398 Main Western Rd, Mount Tamborine, Queensland, is the local market for fresh fruit & vegetables and is open EVERY Sunday from 7.00am to noon. We also sell flowers, honey, nuts, herbs and plants.
Organised as a non-profit venture, through the Tamborine Mountain Local Producers Association Inc. (LPA), the market is provided as a service to local small farmers and growers of horticultural produce. Its aim is to maximise profit for producers and provide visitors and residents with the opportunity to purchase directly from growers.

The country markets offer a huge range of fresh fruit and vegetables, wonderful locally produced cheeses, plants, herbs, flowers, coffee, arts and crafts, collectibles, garden ornaments, clothing, a myriad of homemade things and delicious temptations of all kinds.
There’s excellent coffee, poffertjes (Dutch pancakes), German sausages (try the “Knackwurst” with mustard – yum!) or be tempted by baked jacket potatoes or fresh corn on the cob.
Usually there’s a singer or performer on the gazebo stage, giving these markets a relaxing country atmosphere. Large shady trees keep you cool in summer, and some open areas allow you to soak in the sun on cooler days.
